As a trauma and acute care surgeon I have the privilege of caring for patients when they least expect it, and providing care to not only them but their families, with the goal of restoration to their pre-injury level. I am the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Research Director for the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. My research interests include solid organ injury management, whole blood and resuscitation, and pediatric trauma. I am currently the lead co-PI for an Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma Multicenter Study titled "Radiographic Evidence of Delayed Solid Organ Injuries (REDSOC) Study". Educating both medical students and surgical residents is paramount to the future of our profession. I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery as part of the Associated Faculty of the Perelman School of Medicine. I am an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, and the Surgery Clerkship Site Director for the Temple University Medical Students. I take pride in helping to educate our surgical residents from both Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine to enable them to grow during the early years of their careers as surgeons. I am a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
